Sue produced some of the finest design work I’ve seen at Lloyds during her tenure. She came up with a solution to a design problem that had been floating around within the organisation for years. She asked consistently intelligent and probing questions and did what a good designer should do: she dug underneath the surface of the problem to get down to the underlying issue.

She is refreshingly free of ego, and worked on things that were ‘chores’ with the same attention and focus as other more interesting work.
She wasn’t wedded to her ideas when she realised they didn’t work, if it failed in user testing, then it was to be learned from, put aside and a new idea tried. This was an approach that led to much better end results than refusing to see past an initial idea.
